THIRD HUMAN KILLED BY A TIGER In The District: This Time Tiger Target A Tea Plucker from Woodbriar Tea Estate
The killer Tiger
A piece of human body left after a killer tiger ate a human. A man who was a tea plucker and a migrant worker working for the Niligiri's, Woodbriar Tea Estate, Devarshola. The migrant workers name released as Madhu Oran son of biriyan Orion, a Jharkhand migrant. Migrated from Jharkhand state, North India , near Ranchi town.
The area is on a lock down. The curfew has imposed and the officials from all Government concern are camped in the estate. The District Collector, Magistrate, Police Personal, World Wild Fund (WWF,) Conservators, District Forest Officer (DFO.)
A Full Task Force representing all Departments, with 36 gunmen are in search for the tiger. A cage is placed if they catch it. Majority want the tiger killed. The Forest officials want the Tiger caught and alive. They are having a diplomatic controversy over to kill or to preserve the animal life? Three human beings are killed may be a better chance before more killing is instigated by this tiger to put him to death in a humane way?
I'm sure they can use tranquilizers if possible. If fails and before the Tiger takes another human life they are planning to shoot the tiger.
The General Manager of the Woodbriar Tea Estate is on leave and the acting Senior Manager was not available for comments. The incident was handled by another Manager at site.
The Government has given the wife of the person killed a compensation of Rs. 3 Lakhs. The Tea Estate might not offer any compensation due to the fact that the incident occurred during non working hours?
What many don't understand sometimes is; "The real Cost of a Cuppa?" They live in forest conditions, loneliness and isolation plays a big part on these people's lives. Not to mention dangerous living conditions.
We will bring you any updates of this as soon as we get more information.
Our special thanks to the correspondents in India.
